Recycling Facilities: Area Map
Recycling improves our quality of life…for example, recycling just one ton of office paper can save 7,000 gallons of water. And by recycling cardboard, we can save 25% of the energy required to make new cardboard. Every little bit helps: if each household reused a paper grocery bag for just one shopping trip, about 60,000 trees would be saved.
Keeping our air clean…Most cars on U.S. roads carry only one person. We have so much extra room in our 140 million cars that everyone in Western Europe could ride with us. If each commuting car carried just one more person we'd keep more than 360 million pounds of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere…each day!
Our children are our future! Positive habits, including recycling, that we instill in our children today, will become daily practices into their adulthood. |
